What are Schwartz Rounds? The Schwartz Rounds program is part of our organization’s approach to fostering workforce well-being and a culture of compassion. Schwartz Rounds sessions are opportunities to gather with colleagues to reflect on the emotional impact of our work. Description: At this webinar participants will have an opportunity to reflect on their experiences evaluating and grading clinical trainees and appraise the influence of cognitive bias in evaluating and grading trainees. Participants will also be introduced to interventions intended to mitigate cognitive bias in evaluation and grading.

The Harvard Medical School Daniel D. In particular, the difference between novice and expert learners will be explored and the importance of the development of robust mental schemas will be presented. Finally, the webinar will discuss pedagogical strategies that can help students activate their prior knowledge and then integrate new knowledge into mental schemas.

• Differentiate between novice and expert learners.
• Identify the relationship between mental schemas and clinical reasoning.
• Assess the importance of activating prior knowledge in the classroom and clinical settings.
